Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Terrible - would never buy again Comment: Bit Defender will turn itself off, and this basically locks up the computer. If you can't get it to turn on again, you have to restart the computer & hope it will come up. This happens several times a week, and I can't believe Consumer Reports recommended this product, which is why we bought it. Never again! No security product would be better than Bit Defender. I purchased a two year subscription to BitDefender Total Security 2009 based on these claims only to find that there is literally no way to contact this company if you do have a problem. To reach them even through email requires that you jump through numerous website hoops. When they responded to my emails it is always with an automated message repeating the same fix-it advice already provided on the website. It was like listening to a broken record telling me again and again to attempt the same thing I'd tried a dozen times. I never did get to a place where my request for help was responded to by a human with a keyboard. And calling this company is out of the question. I found their number, after searching for it on-line, only to be met with an automated message stating that they no longer provide telephone support. After two weeks of frustration I finally requested a refund, stating clearly in my request that this was due to their inability to provide any real support. I requested the refund well within the thirty-day window and by completing their refund form. Of course, I received another automated response asking me what my "technical" issue was. I shot another email and another. A month later and I still do not have my $130 refund although I have received an automated email stating they intend to. We shall see. Customer Rating: Summary: Not pleased Comment: I purchased this product because I seen a review that it was the best, easy to use and at a good price, I have three computers I needed it for so I bought the three user pack for two years and thought I was getting a bargain. As it seems it is just as bad as the rest. It slows the computer down. I am not a computer guru and expected it to be easy to set up and straight forward but you have to know more about computers to get this to work right.
